FruitVeB: significant hail in the east part of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county
Significant hail occured in the east part of the Csenger and Fehérgyarmat regions of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county – the President of the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organisation and Product Board (FruitVeB) told MTI.
Ledó Ferenc said: cucumbers are grown on around 280-300 hectares in the area. Almost 25 percent of the crop is completely damaged. According to experts, 75 percent of the plantations may recover from the ravages of the ice, but significant yield loss is expected.
