Recent population research: 5 days of paternity leave is not enough
Since 2015, in the case of the birth of a child, the abbot is entitled to 5 working days of additional leave, which the employer is obliged to grant at the time requested, but no later than the end of the second month after the birth. At the same time, the vast majority of the Hungarian population says that this legal minimum is very small, according to a recent representative survey by Procter & Gamble in May. As part of the company’s Share The Care program, it introduced 8 weeks of paternity leave for its employees 3 years ago, with the primary goal of standardizing paid parental leave to create a more balanced distribution of childcare responsibilities.
