The stores that throw out food to be fined in France
France has become the first nation in the world that will ban supermarkets if wasting food – according to a new law this month.
From now, the large grocery stores must donate unsold food to charities. The amendment that passed through France’s national assembly in December is in effect since last Wednesday. From now, all supermarkets over 4,304 square feet in size must hold contracts with nonprofits or food banks. (agrarszektor.hu)
