Important information about satellite monitoring of irrigated areas

Due to the regulations of the European Commission, since last year – as in the other EU member states – the territorial monitoring system using the Sentinel satellite family, i.e. the TMR system, has been mandatory in the Hungarian agricultural support system.

Due to EU requirements, the application of the system will be expanded in 2024 compared to last year, and it must cover the eligibility conditions of all area-based agricultural and rural development subsidies, where their fulfillment can be judged with high certainty based on the examination and evaluation of satellite images.
