József Viski highlighted: the government is helping the rural economy in a complex way in the current agricultural support period with economic development calls, in which as many projects as possible can be implemented by reallocating resources. He highlighted: thanks to the government’s historic decision, the most comprehensive rural development program of the past decades is taking place with the highest possible co-financing in the EU, 80 percent. A total of 5,400 billion forints of EU development funds are available until 2028, and more than 3,000 billion forints can be accessed in the second pillar thanks to national additional funding. According to the State Secretary, all large “classic” investment tenders have been opened within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy – CAP – Strategic Plan, and he also called it a great achievement that the support decisions were made faster. Thanks to this, small and large food industry applicants, pet owners and ornamental horticulture companies have also received their evaluated tenders – he added, indicating that a decision will soon be made on the tenders of greenhouse horticulture companies.

József Viski emphasized that the government will use all means to support the strengthening of the domestic food industry

As an example, he mentioned that the tender for supporting the development of processing plants was extremely popular, for which nearly 550 applications were received with a request of approximately 700 billion forints. The Secretary of State pointed out that the extraordinary weather – the spring frost, the summer drought – is putting agriculture to a great test. He said that a submission round for irrigation development applications was closed in the spring, and decisions are expected this year. In addition, a tender supporting the development of irrigation communities has also been published – he added.

József Viski spoke separately about the importance of supporting generational change

He also reported that a significant part of the final payments in the CAP Pillar I have been made. He indicated that they are working to bring the final payments forward by at least one month next year – to March or April.
