FM: a central authority responsible for food safety is needed
The results of the past years have shown that there is a need for a central authority, which is responsible for the food safety of the food chain – Bognár Lajos national chief veterinarian, Deputy Minister of State, of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM), responsible for the surveillance of the food chain told at a press conference in Budapest on Friday.
According to a survey, most of the population consider the food chain supervision as important. On a scale of five, 4.6-4.8 values were measured. 36 percent of the respondents said that the national food security situation has improved, and only 5 percent think it has declined – the Deputy Minister of State explained.
