FM: the government encourages fish consumption
The government encourages fish consumption with campaign and with fish fairs in Hungary – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) said on Monday in Budapest at a press conference.
Bitay Márton Örs told that the Hungarians consume less fish than the EU and world average. In the EU, the average annual consumption of fish is around 20 kilograms, while in Hungary it is about 3.5 kilograms. There is an opportunity to increase domestic fish consumption, which has increased in recent years – he said. He added that Hungary has good natural conditions and the expertise is also available to increase fish consumption. (MTI)
