The real estate developers prepared a sustainability recommendation
In order to reduce the built-in energy capacity requirements of office and commercial buildings, the Real Estate Developers’ Round Association (IFK), which brings together the largest real estate developers in Hungary, and the ABUD Engineering Office prepared a sustainability recommendation.
The purpose of the strategic recommendation is to reduce the built-in energy capacity requirements of office and commercial buildings – the installation of energy excess capacities experienced in practice and the reduction of the energy consumption of buildings – based on uniform professional recommendations. This one-of-a-kind material focuses on ensuring that office and commercial buildings can be built and operated with as little built-in capacity as possible. The pursuit of energy efficiency results in sustainable, environmentally friendly and marketable projects for all actors in the long term, which provide many advantages both from an economic and environmental point of view. The IFK also delivers its sustainability recommendations to construction industry players, the relevant chambers and ministries, so that an open dialogue on solutions for a more competitive and greener future can be established in an unprecedented way on the market.
In its latest survey, the Real Estate Developers’ Round Table (IFK), which brings together the largest real estate developers in Hungary, draws attention to the over-planning and over-sizing of the energy capacities of Hungarian category “A” and “B” office buildings, which leads to higher than necessary operating costs, higher carbon dioxide emissions and thus a decrease in competitiveness. ). Together with ABUD Mérnökiroda Kft., the interest group formulated professional recommendations for the entire sector, including members, tenants, agencies and legislators, to choose more environmentally friendly solutions, to reduce installed energy capacities and to encourage and support such solutions.
