The METRO department store in Budaörs was renovated
The large-scale renovation project initiated by METRO continues, and now the Budaörs department store has been renovated. The transformations focused on the needs of professional customers and increasing efficiency, and were carried out in the spirit of the multi-channel wholesale model of the department store chain.
METRO’s international strategy, introduced in 2021, focuses on the concentration of key customer groups, including catering and retail customers. As part of the multi-channel wholesale model, stores, delivery and digital services are all affected by the transformations, which will change the everyday life of METRO’s 13 members.
The renovation of the Budaörs store is the tenth in a series of transformations, during which METRO follows customer habits and business needs. The store is also the headquarters of the company, and the METRO Gastronomy Academy also operates here, so the renovation is of particular importance.
At the opening, Árpád Varga, the store and attraction district director, said that during the renovations, keeping in mind customer habits, the bakery, beverage and dry goods areas were significantly increased, while the size of the non-food department was reduced. The range of ultra-fresh, premium products and quality wines has been expanded to better serve the needs of local customers.
