Magazine: A survey on the most important issues
In the second half of 2017 the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) conducted a questionnaire survey among members. Mostly company owners and directors were asked what they thought the most important issues were. They mentioned the lack of workforce, the simplification of the VAT rules, further decrease in the tax on representation expenses and the reforming of trade education. It turned out that the majority don’t agree with the VAT regulations, because they are difficult to comply with in practice.
Most respondents are members of one or more trade organisations, such as the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs, the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZÉSZ) and Hungarian Gastronomic National Association (MNGSZ). Participants revealed that from the tasks of trade organisations, the most important are representing the interests of members in negotiations with the government and its officials. Cooperation with other trade bodies, being supplied with trade documents and professional services, raising the prestige of hospitality and organising courses and training programmes are also considered priority issues. //
