Ciders are special because they do not have to be labelled according to their sugar content; dry ciders are more likely to turn up among craft varieties, while the mainstream ones are not exactly diet drinks. We had to wait a long time for the first light versions to appear under the well-known brands. In May Somersby came out with a new apple cider containing 52% less sugar.
