FAO: the value of food imports is growing
The international market for basic crops is balanced, wheat and corn are abundantly available, while oil seed production is re-energized.
However, due to transport costs and an increase in the volume of imports, the value of global food exports exceeds 1,300 billion USD this year, which is an increase of over 10 percent, compared to last year, according to the new two-year forecast of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
