FAO: we can expect better than expected grain harvest and stable stocks
The prices of the basic agricultural crops increased by 0.7 percent in October (172.6 points), which is almost 10 percent higher than the level recorded this time last year. The reason: the basic price of cereals – after a decline in the last quarter – started to increase.
The food price index, which increased steadily with the exception of July, is the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) weighted index reflecting the international commodity price movements of the five most important food raw materials during the year.
