The success of Széll Tamás at the Bocuse d’Or contest with his vegan meals containing Hungarian truffles as well as the Hungarian mushroom record found in Baranya county before Christmas also drew attention to the truffle.
For connoisseurs, truffles hiding under the ground is a good business. Previously truffles were considered as the delicacy of the gourmands, but it turned out recently that Hungary – because of the great forests – is a real truffle superpower and in frost-free weather you can actually collect the treasured pieces throughout the year.
