Most people are looking for self-service checkouts
Three out of four purchases are already made through self-service cash registers in some CBA stores, where, as part of an investment that has just been completed – as the first among the Hungarian food chains – cash registers fully developed in Hungary were put into service.
One of the reasons for its popularity is that the coronavirus pandemic has made it more attractive to consumers to pay without personal contact. In addition, technology is a solution to labor shortages for many.
“Based on international experience, the profession estimates the use of self-service cash registers at 30 to 35 percent where they are available in addition to traditional cash registers. Compared to this, we can now see that the devices we have installed will be used by about 75 percent of the customers even a few weeks after the start, ” Bessenyei István, the owner of Laurel Számítástechnikai Kft. said.
