These pesticides can be used in durum wheat
Farmers often ask which pesticides can be used in durum wheat crops. According to the position of the licensing authority, the use of pesticides approved for “wheat” or “winter wheat” crops based on their marketing and use permits is also permitted in durum and spelt crops.

When applying herbicides, special attention should be paid to the fact that (spring and winter) durum and spelt wheat are much more sensitive to herbicide treatments than winter wheat. It is important to know that before applying pesticides that can be used in durum and spelt crops, it is recommended to consult the license holder and the variety maintainer about the risk of phytotoxicity, otherwise the destruction of the crop may occur with regard to herbicides. In the electronic farming diary (eGN), the pesticides permitted in wheat can also be selected in durum wheat and spelt, but the farmer must enter the withdrawal period (EP) as it is not automatically displayed because the document does not include the use of durum wheat or spelt. In such cases, the person completing the form must enter the EP next to winter wheat/wheat.
