McDonald’s has renewed its burgers after decades
Guests of the restaurant chain were first able to taste the Cheeseburger and Big Mac sandwiches in the United States in 1967, and in Hungary 35 years ago, when the McDonald’s restaurant on Régiposta Street was opened. The ingredients, recipe and method of preparation have remained essentially unchanged since then. However, thanks to a development, beef sandwiches, including several iconic burgers, such as the Sajtburger, the Cheesy McRoyal and the Big Mac itself have also been renewed.
For McDonald’s, guest satisfaction is extremely important, so it constantly monitors their changing needs and implements innovations from time to time based on their feedback. In relation to their iconic beef sandwiches, they set themselves the goal of using the already well-known ingredients to achieve a change that can be felt by the guests as well by tweaking the preparation process: the meat pie should be even hotter, the cheese more melted and the bun tastier.
How was this achieved? Thanks to the renewal of kitchen preparation processes, classic beef sandwiches offer a familiar yet new taste experience. One of the most important changes occurred in roasting beef. The new process allows the meat patties to be added to sandwiches even hotter. In the case of the Cheeseburger and the Big Mac, in addition to salt and pepper, onions are also sprinkled on the meat patties on the grill, so their taste becomes more characteristic and flavorful. The hotter meat and the changes in kitchen technology together mean that the cheese in beef burgers is even more melted than before. The juicier experience in the case of the Big Mac is also due to the amount of sauce increased by one and a half times, and the buns used are even tastier thanks to the renewed recipe.
