Water savings would bring 1.4 billion euros annual savings in the hotel industry in the EU
Every year 1.4 billion euros (437 billion HUF) in savings can be achieved in the hotel industry on EU level, with the use of water-saving technologies – according to a survey involving the hotels of the European Union's member states – the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants told MTI on Monday.
According to the survey, significant cost savings could be achieved if the sector if the flow regulators and Initial treatment of gray water would be used widely. The gray water is not suitable for personal consumption, but for example, it can be used for irrigation, toilet flushing. Only 45 percent of the surveyed hotels are using waterway regulators and the treatment of gray water is only achieved at 1 percent of the hotels. (MTI)
