Insecticide and insect repellent sales are highly dependent on weather: when the summer is dry, there are fewer mosquito and other insects. Between May 2013 and April 2014 volume sales surged 17 percent and value sales grew 12 percent. The annual market neared HUF 4 billion. Hypermarkets and drugstores realised 64 percent of value sales, 3 percentage points less than a year earlier. Manufacturer brands’ share in sales was 98 percent.
