For years, the goal has been shared: to deliver diapers to where they are most needed
Caring for children requires attention, a lot of energy and sensitivity. This is especially true in babies’ first three years of life. The mission of the Pampers brand, produced by Procter & Gamble, is to make the world of babies better and more pleasant especially during this period, not only by producing premium quality diapers, but also by working together with parents, experts and organizations several times throughout the year. also provides donations and support where it is most needed.
In the first 12 months, babies go from helpless newborns to self-conscious perpetual motion. As adults, our most important task is to support them and create the safest possible environment for them to develop healthily.
Adapting to this fact, P&G realizes the mission of its Pampers brand by accompanying parents at every stage of their babies’ development, being present where the need is greatest, and launching numerous charity initiatives with the help of its partners to support babies year after year. The company already has more than 5 years of partnership with Rossmann Magyarország Kft., within the framework of which their recurring charity programs that show significant results can be realized. This year is no exception. The campaign supporting the reduction of diaper poverty in the first half of the year has ended, but the date of the program supporting premature babies is approaching.
“Pampers believes that together we can make the world of babies better. During the development and design of our products, we have been motivated for more than 50 years to provide a safe, happy and healthy start for babies. In Hungary, in addition to our program to support premature babies, we consider the fight against diaper poverty to be extremely important.”
– detailed Adrienn Montague-Katus, head of P&G’s Central European customer marketing.
November 17 – World Day of Premature Babies
The day that belongs to the smallest heroes, when special attention is paid to the early arrivals. Since 2020, for the 5th year this year, Pampers and Rossmann have tied their joint support program for premature babies to this date. Within the framework of the donation program, Pampers, in cooperation with Rossmann and the National Association of Premature Babies (KORE), supplies the premature baby wards of Hungarian hospitals with special premature diapers that are not available in stores.
P&G, the manufacturer of Pampers diapers, created its diapers designed for premature babies with the help of specialists, the smallest of which are barely the size of a palm. The silky soft mini diapers provide a comfortable feeling to the sensitive skin of premature babies, trying to make the examinations, continuous monitoring, care and diaper changes as simple as possible.
Anyone who buys a package of Pampers diapers in Rossmann’s stores or webshop between November 1 and 30, 2024 can take part in the joint charity initiative of Pampers and Rossmann. For every diaper package purchased, Pampers donates one premature diaper to Hungarian hospitals dealing with premature birth care.
Rossmann supplements the diaper donation every year, including this year, with an additional HUF 3,000,000 product donation, which also reaches the premature birth wards of Hungarian hospitals through KORE.
Where the need is greatest
We know of hundreds of impoverished settlements in Hungary, where families and children suffer from shortages on a daily basis. The basis for the healthy development of babies is not the safe environment. This year is the third year that, in addition to one of Pampers’ main social goals, supporting premature babies, it has also worked to reduce diaper poverty.
In 2024, Pampers donated nearly 45,000 diapers with the help of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, which is 35 years old this year, to families with babies living in disadvantaged settlements, where the proportion of houses without comfort is five times the national average, the typical form of employment is public work, and for most services the first those who live there have to travel to the city. The symbolic handing over of the donation took place in Zalakomár in July 2024 in the Presence House of the Charity Service
“Mothers often cannot give diapers to their children, even when they travel to the next village to see the doctor. Pampers’ support is a huge opportunity for mothers here, because they can create a safer, cleaner and more comfortable environment for their children”
– added Aletta Ács, head of the Presence program in Zalakomar.
During the 3 years of the campaign, the brand donated a total of more than 157,000 diapers to the most needy with the help of Rossmann customers.
“We have been working together with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service for years, not only in relation to Pampers, but also other P&G brands. Their expertise and dedicated work can be exemplary for anyone. So, when the possibility of this campaign arose, we asked the Organization to help us show where diaper donations would be most needed in the country. We found their program to help the poorest settlements to be very inspiring and useful, and we were able to join the Pampers brand in the development sub-programme accompanying the first thousand days of young children”
– detailed Adrienn Montague-Katus, head of P&G’s Central European customer marketing.
