Ice Cream of the Year 2018
The Guild of Hungarian Confectioners organised the Ice Cream of the Year competition in 2018: 72 ice creams were competing in 4 categories, in Virág Confectionery in Szeged.
Results: Category 1: confectioneries and artisan ice cream parlours • Gold medal winner and Ice Cream of the Year: Raspberry with Basil – Renáta Somogyi (Bringatanya, Somogyi Ice Cream Atelier – Gyenesdiás)
Category 2: confectioneries and ice cream parlours
• Gold medal: Cashew Nut with Date Jam – Attila Pálfi (Florida Ice Cream Parlour – Balatonmáriafürdő)
Category ‘C’: ingredient manufacturers and distributors
• Gold medal: Sea Buckthorn with Oat Biscuit and Flower Pollen – Tamás Andok (Aromitalia – NECTAR Kft. – Budaörs)
Category ‘M’: ice creams made without added sugar, gluten, lactose and milk protein
• Gold medal: Almond with Orange – Zoltán Hajdu (KEN Carpathia Kft. – Budapest)
