Eurostat: life expectancy has slightly reduced in the EU
Compared to the previous year, it decreased slightly by 0.9 years, falling from 81.3 to 80.4 years of life expectancy at birth in the European Union in 2020, the decline is related to a sharp increase in the mortality rate due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) announced on Wednesday.

Life expectancy has fallen in the EU
According to the report, in 2020, the average life expectancy at birth in the European Union was 80.4 years. The average life expectancy was 83.2 years for women and 77.5 years for men. Compared to the previous year, the life expectancy of men has decreased by one year and that of women by 0.8 years, they said.
According to data, life expectancy fell in 23 of the 27 EU Member States last year. (MTI)
