Smaller apple yield Europe-wide

This year, the apple will certainly getting more expensive, because one third of the expected crop was damaged by storms and pests. The are also problems with quality, because a significant part of fruits were dameged by the bad weather.

According to Lux Róbert, Vice-President of FruitVeb; all in the major apple producing areas of the World, there is a shortage of a good crop. According to the forecasts; in the European Union 9.5 million tonnes are expected, instead of the average 12 million tonnes of the previous years – reports Népszabadság Online.
