European Commission: VAT losses has been reducing in EU countries for years
The difference between the calculated and the actual amount of VAT collected has been decreasing for years, reaching 137 billion euros in EU countries in 2017 – the European Commission announced on Thursday.
Pierre Moscovici, Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, responsible for Taxation and Customs, said that the VAT loss in 2017 decreased by 8 billion euros, which is roughly the same as the 7.8 billion euros recorded in 2016. (MTI)
