Retail sales of non-food items in Europe fell by 3%
Although the year 2020, which was a hallmark of COVID-19, presented retailers with enormous challenges, fmcg product trade was able to benefit during closures, with an average increase of 5.5% in sales in the EU-27. In contrast, non-food retail sales in the EU experienced losses, with sales falling by 3%. These findings were published yesterday by GfK in its new comprehensive study on European retail.
