Multinational giants are preparing for the future already, for instance McDonald’s is said to have applied for no less than ten virtual trademarks for the Metaverse from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. These include ‘operating a restaurant with real and virtual assets’ and ‘operating a virtual, online restaurant offering home delivery’. Theoretically it will be possible for a user to order their food in a virtual McDonald’s restaurant in the Metaverse, and then have it delivered in the real world.
