Equal opportunities and inclusion in the strategy of the company’s Hungarian member companies
Inclusion, diversity, equal opportunities – these days, they are unavoidable aspects in the operation of a company. While at some companies this may be exhausted by loud words, KPMG has stepped into the field of action; at its Hungarian member companies, this is now one of the central elements of the operation.
A company can do a lot to make its employees feel good. For years, KPMG Hungary has been trying to create an environment where everyone goes to work with joy and self-identity every single day, and feels that they belong there. To this end, the company prepared the internal IDE (Inclusion, Diversity & Equity) policy. This provides a framework for the basic principles, strengthens commitments and contributes to everyone feeling safe at KPMG, whether they are career starters, working parents, people of different nationalities or members of the LGBTQ community.
In its initiatives, the Hungarian company relied on the guidance of KPMG’s global IDE Collective Action Plan. The three pillars of the action plan are an inclusive culture based on trust, an informed and empathetic workforce, and a stand for equal opportunities. One of the objectives of the strategy is to reach and maintain an 80 percent satisfaction level in the annual employee survey (Global People Survey-GPS) for issues related to Inclusion, Diversity and Equality by 2025.According to the latest 2023 survey, 80 percent of colleagues at KPMG agree that the company actively supports inclusion and diversity, recognizing and respecting the value of differences (these include, among others, gender identity or age also).
