Drugstores strengthened their position
Paper diapers: in a 6-month period paper diaper sales were realised in the value of nearly HUF 10 billion. Value sales augmented by 5 percent and volume sales were up 4 percent. Drugstores were responsible for 47 percent of value sales – 4 percentage points more than a year earlier. Baby wipes: the size of the six-month market was almost HUF 3 billion. Value sales increased by 11 percent and volume sales surged by 13 percent. Drugstores and hypermarkets generated 70 percent of sales.
Baby powder: sales amounted to HUF 140 million in the January-June 2016 period. Value sales dropped 8 percent and volume sales declined by 11 percent. Drugstores’ share from sales grew by 1 percentage point to 41 percent. Baby oil: in the 6-month period HUF 100-million sales were realised. Value sales were down 3 percent and volume sales reduced by 7 percent. Drugstores’ share in sales fell from 51 percent to 50 percent.
