Facebook Shops intensives online competition in South Korea
The US social media giant hopes to increase its market share in a competitive market dominated by local players.
Facebook has rolled out its latest innovation, Facebook Shops, in South Korea. Sellers can create their own collection and customize the look and feel of the shop with images and colours that showcase their brand.
Shoppers can browse the offerings via the brand’s Facebook page or Instagram profile, save the products they want and place an order. Plans are now underway to make purchases right within a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct, the company said.
Facebook first launched Facebook Shops in the U.S. and several European countries in May.
