GVH’s program for educating people on conscious internet use has closed a successful semester
The staff of the Economic Competition Office (GVH) held classes for a total of more than 4,000 students in 175 classes of 52 schools in recent months as part of the Digital Awareness Program. The educational initiative was launched by GVH in January with the aim of drawing attention to the dangers lurking in the online space for children and to prepare young people for the conscious use of the Internet. The latest discussion of the GVH Podcast, which is now available on the usual online platforms, is about the experiences of the first period. The GVH program continues from September, for which you can already apply.
The academic year ends this week and the holidays begin, so the GVH Digital Awareness Program will also take a short break. The school education initiative was launched in January this year amid great interest. In the past semester, the specialists of the competition authority gave interactive presentations to 175 classes in 52 schools across the country. The goal was to promote the awakening of children’s awareness (at a younger age) and to start investigating and thinking about consumer protection issues in the digital space. In addition, the aim of the program is to draw the attention of young people to the importance and protection of their data provided online.
Based on the experts’ experience, the students participating in the program were very open and interested, and shared their own experiences. It turned out that most of the 13-15-year-olds already shop independently with a bank card, and many also order products from abroad. Several people have already encountered, for example, account hacking, and there were also those who had money withdrawn from their accounts by unauthorized persons. These experiences also confirmed the necessity and importance of the Digital Awareness Program.
