It is worth using salt substitutes
According to recent research, the use of salt substitutes can have significant benefits for cardiovascular health. A study published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine points out that long-term use of salt substitutes can significantly reduce the risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease.
The research was carried out by colleagues at Bond University in Australia, who analyzed 16 randomized controlled trials with a total of 35,251 participants. Researchers have found that using salt substitutes can have a positive effect on blood pressure and reduce the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Loai Albarqouni, who led the research, said that salt substitutes may be particularly useful for people with high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems. The average age of the study participants was 64 years, and they had a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.
The results show that salt substitutes may have similar benefits to antihypertensive drugs. Salt substitutes are a mixture of 25-30 percent potassium chloride and 60-75 percent sodium chloride. As a result, blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular diseases can be reduced.
