38 winner brands
GREEN BRANDS is a trademark programme that certifies ecological sustainability with a unique, 3-step procedure. The trademark can be earned by production and services companies, with non-food products and food products too. In the GREEN BRANDS programme winners get the certification for 2-year periods. At this year’s award ceremony 38 brands received the prize.
Norbert Lux, the founder of GREEN BRANDS told: there are always companies that do greenwashing, so he has decided to start a certification programme that rewards those brands which really operate sustainably. He added that the European Union analysed the 3-step certification process in detail and registered GREEN BRANDS as an independent, neutral and transparent scheme, which is in line with the EU’s recently announced anti-greenwashing directive. For the gala, the organisers published the Hungarian version of the book introducing the winner brands, from which those who were there received a copy.
Top 25
This time in Hungary, the voting wasn’t organised to decide who the Personality of the Year is, but to find the Top 25 most influential green personalities. The voters were the members of the GB Academy – the alumni of the sustainability manager training programme of (founded by Gábor Lévai and András Wiszkidenszky), the professors of the programme, and the representatives of the winner brands. These influential 25 Hungarian green personalities are also introduced in a book. //
