Henrik Spelter Memorial Year
The organisers first met in Petre confectionery in Tata, and they decided to get in touch with the local Talentum Art Secondary School for designing the dessert gift box. As for the contents of the box, Gerbeaud’s former head confectioner Sándor Kovács compiled it, relying on the original Spelter recipes. The desserts in the box will represent the professional career of Henrik Spelter. There have already been two trial baking sessions, one in Budapest and another in Tata. When deciding which desserts to put in the box, the main criteria were the price-value ratio, the diversity of flavours and the shelf life of the desserts. Every confectionery that takes part in the programme will get the recipes and the guild is providing them with uniform boxes. Confectioneries are required to furnish a corner that reflects the style and atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, for promoting the Spelter dessert box.

János Rákóczi Memorial Year
At the Sirha Budpest trade show the organisers shared the details of the Rákóczi János Memorial Year. The guild’s representatives will visit vocational schools to speak about the life and work of János Rákóczi. The main event will take place on 25 September in the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism, where there will be presentations and dessert-making workshops. //
