A TV program was launched in October by ATV under the title “King of Chefs”. Unlike other programs, this one is not about professional celebrities playing chef. The 18 competitors are all professional chefs who had to qualify for the competition. There are some excellent chefs among them like András Wolf from Bock Bisztró, Ákos Sárközi from Alabárdos, Csaba Palotai from Callas, or Sándor Frank from Fehértó Halászcsárda. There will be three competitors in each quarter final, with only one going on to the semi-final. Although this is no Bocuse d’Or, the professional criteria to be met is tough. As this is a TV show, the jury will also give points for good improvisational and communication skills. However, it is also essential that viewers should be able to prepare the dishes seen at home. The jury will include dr. János Kiss, Corporate Chef of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, László Aczél, writer of the foodpolice blog and Dieter Müller, holder of three Michelin stars. The winner of the competition will also get a chance to operate a stage workshop for a week in the kitchen of the German star chef.
