The new GHG emission values of grain and oil crop cultivation were recognized
In 2023, the European Commission asked the member states to submit newly calculated regional greenhouse gas (GHG) emission values (NUTS2 values) related to the sustainable production of arable crops used for biofuel production, instead of the previous values that are no longer valid.

Hungary complied with this and submitted to the European Commission a report on the GHG emission levels typical of the cultivation of agricultural raw materials for the so-called NUTS2 regions and the five most important arable and oil crops, such as corn, winter cabbage, rapeseed, sunflower, winter wheat and for soy.
This report was adopted by the European Commission at technical level on 1 October 2024
The Ministry of Agriculture recognizes the use of the NUTS2 values in the tables below for the greenhouse gas emissions from the cultivation of corn, winter cabbage, rapeseed, sunflower, winter wheat and soy, which are already accepted at a technical level, until the European Commission, in relation to them, in accordance with Article 31 of the RED II Directive (4) shall not accept an executive legal act.
