The Cosmetics Europe COSMILE Eu database has been launched
The database on cosmetic ingredients prepared by Cosmetics Europe has become available in the European Union. On February 16, 2023, Cosmetics Europe launched the COSMILE Europe ingredient database, which provides easily accessible information on cosmetic ingredients for citizens of the European Union.
The database is currently available in 14 languages and provides information on nearly 30,000 ingredients used in cosmetics. We can get an idea of the properties, functions, natural or artificial origin of the ingredients, and in which product types they are used. “Cosmetics Europe is delighted to share this tool with the citizens of the Union. Nowadays, the Internet is flooded with a lot of information about ingredients, from which it is difficult to choose those with a reliable background.
The European cosmetics and household chemicals industry wants to provide consumers with easily accessible, reliable, authentic and well-founded information about ingredients.” said John Chave, CEO of Cosmetics Europe. The list of ingredients on the label or packaging of cosmetic and personal care products uses the INCI nomenclature (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients). It is a unified system that is internationally recognized for the identification of cosmetic ingredients.
