Employment may peak
Employment may have peaked, and further expansion may be hampered by labor shortages, especially in an uncertain global market environment – analysts told MTI in response to employment and unemployment data.
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Friday that in the June to August period, the average number of unemployed fell by 16,000 to 157,000, and the unemployment rate fell by 0.4 percentage points to 3.4 percent. In the summer months, 34,000 more people were employed than a year before, with the average number of employed persons rising to 4 million 517,000 and the employment rate of 15-64 year-olds to 70.2 percent.
