Analysts: increase in retail sales may continue
Moderate growth in retail sales may continue in the coming months, although the July data released on Thursday has been somewhat disappointing – analysts told MTI, who hope that economic growth in the third quarter will not be dampened by developments in domestic consumption.
According to a recent report by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), in July, both raw and calendar-adjusted data, retail trade turnover was 0.4 percent higher than a year earlier. With this, the willingness to buy reached the level of a year ago by July. Compared to the April low, the calendar-adjusted volume index of retail trade increased by 10.6 percentage points. (MTI)
