The slowdown in retail sales growth is only temporary. In the next few months, the previous momentum may return – according to experts interviewed by MTI.
Ürmössy Gergely, senior macroeconomic analyst at Erste Bank believes that the slower-than-expected retail sales growth is only temporary. From August an acceleration is expected. It can be stated on the basis of the confidence indexes that the Hungarian consumer confidence is stable, so the average 5 percent growth rate experienced in the first seven months may remain for the rest of the year.
