More and more people are eating health-consciously
The concept of health-conscious eating is gaining ground worldwide, according to Tetra Pak’s 2023 global research. Eating habits are increasingly focused on health, including mental health. The Tetra Pak 2023 index report, which was prepared with the involvement of 5,000 participants from many parts of the world, points out that our purchasing and nutrition decisions are increasingly determined by health awareness aspects.
According to Micael Simonsson, director of processing development at Tetra Pak, the Covid epidemic may also be behind this: “The pandemic has put health and nutrition at the center. People are looking for foods that strengthen their immune system and mental health.”
Health-conscious food trends are becoming a reality. The poll, conducted in ten countries on four continents, reveals that two-thirds of consumers pay more attention to their nutrition today than ever before. 70% of people feel that it has a positive effect on their quality of life. The concept of health awareness is spreading globally, and the research highlights that according to 75% of the surveyed consumers, the importance of mental health is equivalent to physical health. In addition, 83% of respondents buy foods that support mental health.
