More and more packaging waste is generated in Germany
More and more packaging waste is generated in Germany. According to the report of the Federal Environment Agency(UBA) released on Monday, the amount per person exceeds 100 kilograms a year.
According to the UBA, 18.72 million tons of packaging waste were generated nationwide in 2017, which is a new historical peak and an increase of 3 percent from 18.16 million tons a year before.
The share of residential consumption is 47 percent, an increase of 3.8 percentage points on an annual basis, representing 8.84 million tonnes, or 107 kg of packaging waste per person. (MTI)
