Farmers markets are getting increasingly popular
With the support of farmers’ markets, the government wants to continue to support local producers and mitigate the economic damage caused by the coronavirus, the agriculture minister said on Saturday.
István Nagy spoke at the ceremonial handover of the anvil market that in 2012 the government introduced the concept of a producer market to stimulate local economies and supported the development of markets, so that by 2020 the number of markets had almost tripled. There were 117 farmers’ markets in the country in 2012 and 324 at the end of last year, the ministry added.
