Plastic Bank Prevents One Billion Plastic Bottle From Entering The Ocean
Social enterprise Plastic Bank has announced it has achieved the milestone of preventing one billion plastic bottles from entering the world’s oceans.
The group, which operates in Haiti, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Egypt, cited its partnership with household products manufacturer SC Johnson as “instrumental” in helping it to achieve this milestone.
“Plastic waste entering our oceans is one of our greatest global challenges,” commented David Katz, founder and CEO of Plastic Bank. “At a time when the world is calling for greater responsibility, this significant milestone is evidence of our ability to make deliberate environmental, social and economic impact.”
