Kőbánya presents its unique face as an employer
With the goal of creating a tradition, the Kőbánya Career Festival will be held for the first time on November 8, 2023, the mission of which is to present Kőbánya’s rich and diverse employer face, as well as to provide opportunities for job seekers. The district is home to big-name companies such as Bosch, Ceva-Phylaxia, Continental, Dreher, Egis, Richter, Hungaropharma, Hungexpo, Kincsem Park or KÖKI on the border of the two districts. These workplaces provide space for more than a hundred professions, more than a thousand positions and countless development opportunities. The Kőbányai SzakmaFest was created by the Kőbánya cross-sector cooperation, X-GAIN, which is also considered unique nationally.
Kőbánya is the geometric center of Budapest, which is 150 years old this year, has 70,000 inhabitants and is the home of many large global companies, thus the workplace of thousands of district and non-local residents. In addition to its unique industrial heritage, it is one of Budapest’s largest green areas and the site of several popular sports events. At the same time, many values are still unknown about Kőbánya. There are still many opportunities for development, to which the establishment and activities of X-GAIN give additional impetus.
The Kőbánya Economic Development and Innovation Council, i.e. X-GAIN, is a partnership established by the cooperation of the municipality, the corporate sector and local community actors. X-GAIN is a thematic platform launched with the organizing cooperation of the 10 major companies of the Xth district and the city administration, in which 6+ industries, with 60+ active operational participants, work on local solutions in 6+ thematic directions; starting with infrastructure and mobility, through programs supporting a healthy lifestyle and volunteering, to promoting local innovation and startup culture, as well as career choice in many specific areas. In addition, it places special focus on cooperation, communication and development coordination between local companies. The Kőbányai SzakmaFest is the latest initiative of X-GAIN, which has been operating since the spring of 2022.
