EC: the limitation of the retail margin of certain products is illegal
In the framework of an infringement procedure, the European Commission (EC) has repeatedly called on Hungary to abolish the restriction on the retail margin of agricultural and food products.
In the framework of the European Commission’s package of March resolutions on misconduct, it decided to take further legal action, stage the procedure in its second phase and send a reasoned opinion to Hungary because the national rules on retail sales of agricultural and food products are incompatible with the EU law.
