Sunflower seeds become more expensive
In its June projection, Oil World expects a global sunflower seed harvest of 60.6 million tons in the 2025/2026 marketing year, 11 percent higher than in 2024/2025.

In France, the weather has been dry and warm since sowing, while in the southwestern European member states the situation is more favorable thanks to showers. According to AKI PÁIR data, high-oil sunflower seeds (LO) were purchased by processors and traders for HUF 191.6 thousand/tonne (+27 percent) in the third week of June. The producer price of industrial sunflower seeds (including high-oleic sunflower seeds) excluding VAT and transport costs was HUF 191.8 thousand/tonne (+26 percent).
