Dr. Mária Törőcsik is the lifetime achievement awardee of the Hungarian Marketing Association
In addition to annually awarding the best marketing and digital solutions, the Hungarian Marketing Association (MMSZ) also awards the organization’s most important recognition, the Tonk Emil Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of successful professional careers. The 2023 awardee, Dr. Mária Törőcsik, was presented with the recognition by the president of MMSZ, Ferenc Hinora, and vice-president, Dr. Árpád Papp-Váry, in the framework of the Marketing Summit on September 14, in the Várkert Bazaar.
The Tonk Emil Lifetime Achievement Award of the MMSZ is one of the most important awards of the MMSZ, with which the organization recognizes a successful professional life path completed for the benefit of the marketing profession as a whole. This year’s awardee, Dr. Mária Törőcsik, is a professor at the University of Pécs, to whom Ferenc Hinora, president of MMSZ, and vice-president Dr. Árpád Papp-Váry presented the recognition at this year’s Marketing Summit in the Várkert Bazaar.
Dr. Mária Törőcsik has been teaching marketing, marketing strategy, customer and consumer behavior, and brand strategy at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pécs for several decades. He understands the language of the generations and the behavior of consumers well, dozens of clients have turned to his consulting and market research company in the past decades. His research on customer and consumer behavior as well as lifestyle and generations is outstanding. Hundreds of people listened to his plenary lectures at the events of the Hungarian Marketing Association, and his thoughts reached thousands of people through his books.
The broad recognition of his expertise is clearly demonstrated by the fact that he became the professional chairman of the National Brand Council when it was founded, and for many years he worked with other excellent professionals to improve the country’s image. He is a member of the Hungarian Marketing Association, the Hungarian Advertising Association and the Marketing Science Subcommittee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
