Auchan announced a design competition
Auchan Hungary joined Plastic-Free July for the third time this year. The company attaches great importance to sustainability and encourages its customers to adopt environmentally conscious consumer behavior with its consistent strategy. In 2022, they were the first on the market to remove plastic roll bags from stores, and a special design competition was announced for this year’s campaign. The winning entry will be put into production, and customers will soon be able to take home the purchased products in individually designed paper bags.
One of Auchan Hungary’s stated goals is to be among the most sustainable companies on the domestic market by 2025. Last year, it took a huge step in the direction of plastic elimination, when it became the first of the food retail chains to completely remove single-use plastic bags from its stores, which were previously used to weigh fruit, vegetables and baked goods.
On the occasion of this year’s plastic-free July, Auchan also wants to draw attention to the reduction of plastic use and the importance of a sustainable lifestyle. As part of the initiative, it announced an exciting and special design competition to promote environmentally friendly packaging with creative solutions. Ideas are still waiting until the end of the month, which are not only aesthetic, but also convey important messages about plastic pollution and the importance of sustainable shopping habits in graphic and textual form. Among other things, the prize of the winning applicant will be that his design will be placed on paper shopping bags during the fall, in order to encourage customers to be environmentally conscious.
