AMC has launched a melon promotion campaign

The Agricultural Marketing Center (AMC) has launched a melon promotion campaign to raise awareness of the longer melon season this year.

Feldman Zsolt, Minister of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, said at a press conference held on Friday in Zamárdi, that the domestic melon crop is expected to be around 180,000 tonnes in 2019.

Because of the deliberate choice of the breeders, the season will not end this year on August 10, but will end by the end of September – he added.
He stressed that Hungarian melon production is also significant at European level, because Hungary the fourth highest melon production after Spain, Greece and Italy. (MTI)
