Fiber consumption can prevent the development of chronic, non-infectious diseases – the Secretary General of the Hungarian Association of Dietitians told M1 news channel on Tuesday.
Erdélyi-Sipos Aliz told that one of the causes of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity was inadequate fiber intake.
The daily consumption of 24-30 grams of fiber is recommended, but according to the latest representative nutrition survey in Hungary, neither women nor men achieved it, although men approach the lower limit. (MTI)
